We returned for yet another visit to this great KOA (and I don't even like KOAs!!!). That says something since we didn't have the RV on this trip so we tried a cabin. This park is excellent, and shows continuous improvement. It is one of the best parks we have ever stayed at. Much to our surprise the park has new owners as of the first of this year. Very very nice folks who are working super hard. I couldn't imagine how they could improve the place but they have. A couple of new deluxe cabins, more and better landscaping, evidence of fresh paint all over the place!

This park has the potential of being excellent once again, but is in pretty bad shape. The sites are small and hard to negotiate. Obviously laid out many years ago for small RV’s. All the roads, sites and hook ups show many many years of hard use and minimal service. It’s truly a shame as this park is so convenient to the Grand Canyon. We loved out stay at the park and would go back again in spite of the shortcomings, but sure wish someone would shut it down for a season and get it back up to standard. I would gladly pay twice or even three times what we paid!

Although this is by far the nicest KOA we have stayed at I am unable to give it a very high rating. This was our third visit to this KOA. Each time we have found it to be very very well kept, neat as a pin and well maintained. The facilities are excellent, and the layout is as well. So you ask why not the highest rating well because regardless of how nice the park itself is you can’t make up for poor management. First off, $38 is a lot of money for any park that is not a “destination” park and a legitimate five star. Second, you can buy them books and send them to school but you can’t seem to make the learning sink in! Why, with well over 100 sites and under 30 guests do they have to jam everyone together? This seems to be a trend as the more distant sites are starting to have weeds growing out of the gravel from lack of use. Next, how about having cable TV that works for $38 a night! Maybe a little more water pressure would help as well. I may sound as though I am picking a bit, but we were very excited to return to this park and very let down once we arrived. It’s now off our list for good.

Interesting park!!! It’s actually nothing but a gravel parking lot sandwiched between two motels, a Denny’s restaurant, Interstate 40, Route 66 and the ever present railroad tracks. All that said, it is noisy but we found it to be quite nice for a three day stay. The laundry is huge and superb. The staff are nice. The restaurant is very convenient, as is everything in town - just pull out on the highway and turn left! Very handy spot and kept up reasonable well. I will stop there again for sure.

New park that is basically a paved parking lot. Sites are big and convenient. Park is within walking distance of town. Lots of thing available at the complex and in town as well. Great location and nice clean, new park. But check is very inconvenient and hard to find. Signage is almost non existent. Once you check in you are on your own there is no on site management or security that we were able to see. Thus, none of the park rules were enforced while we were at the park. Dogs on the loose, loud unruly campers a real nightmare. They have excellent potential with this park but really need some management!!

This is a pitiful park and a poor experience from start to finish! The fact that it was raining didn’t help much, and that was not the parks fault, but the place was one giant mud hole. The park is fairly old and show years of use. Roads are in poor shape and could benefit from at least some small amount of maintenance. Sites are small, and our 30’ fifth wheel barely fit. Hook ups are only adequate. Staff seemed totally indifferent and lacked any sign of human warmth. The parks does have a café, and they deliver to your RV, which is very nice. The food was OK and the prices were a bit high for what you get. All in all this is one park to pass up.

Not very pleased with this park! First, the owners seem to be very comfortable with the fact that they rent most of the sites every evening so their interest in e was obviously minimal. The park is small, sites are small and are gravel/dirt. Not well kept. The hooks ups were marginal and the cable TV didn’t work. The view is nice but the park has been carved out of a hill side and evidence of erosion is everywhere. The most alarming item was when we were walking the dog and came upon the sign at the edge of the park behind the bed and breakfast part that indicated that we were entering a shooting range!!! Yep, a shooting range behind the park and guess what direction the down range part is pointing at you guessed it the park! Needless to saw we couldn’t wait to get out of there!

We have camped at this park many many times and are sad to have to post a less than glowing review after our recent stay. The park has invested several thousand in a swimming pool, which is a nice addition but the money would have been much better spent on the roads and sites which are in bad shape. Gravel is about gone and it turns into a mud hole when wet and dust bowl when dry. The work campers seemed totally indifferent to us, and to the enforcement of the park rules (such as speeding, not driving through vacant sites, etc.). The park traffic flow has been altered since out last visit so that traffic now does not go past the work camper sites - nice move guys!! Worse yet, we paid $25 a night - up about $5. Sorry, this will absolutely be our last stay!!

Fairly quiet, off the main road. An older park but pretty well kept actually. Nice staff. Over priced like almost all KOA's, but we liked it there and would return.

Park setting is excellent, with nice trees and access to the river. Very pleasant surrounding, but it doesn’t make up for the poor management. Staff seems indifferent and preoccupied with other matters. Owner must have some other business. Dogs running loose, laundry equipment insufficient for the number of sites and water pressure very poor. Stayed one night and moved on to the KOA in Dubois! This park is off my list for good.

A fantastic park during the week but a nightmare on the weekends. Lots of people cruising around, drinking and making noise on the weekend. During the week - absolutely delightful. Lots of trees, stream, and a great place to relax and take a nice walk through the park. The Fort is nicely restored, the RV sites are large and well groomed. Just don't go during the weekend!!!!

SeaWind continues to be one of our favorite RV parks. Just got back from another week + at this park and found it is still well maintained, everything ship shape as usual! Staff is great! Keep up the good work.

What a great surprise this KOA turned out to be! We limped in when our truck broke down and they were very helpful. Excellent park, very well maintained with ALL the amenities. Super friendly staff, great roads, sites, pool, landscaping (given that it IS the New Mexico desert they have made an extra effort here). Fenced in pet yards (two of them) and a huge pet walk area. They also have a good restaurant, and deliver to your RV! Wish we could have stayed longer than two days but we had to move on.

Very attractive and well maintained park that is close to Cloudcroft. Large sites (some side by side) and some good shade trees. Very quite and off the highway. A peacefull place to stay a while! Park is a summer destination for full time campers who are getting away from the heat of surrounding areas (and states). Now for the downside - no cell phone service within about 10-15 miles of the park. No cable (bring your dish). No store at the park, and the nearest grocery store of any consequence is about an hours drive (better bring what you need). There is a small store within 2 miles that has some essentials. The full time summer guests pretty much stick together in their own little groups and take over the small recreation room at the park, so better bring your own friends with you!

What they call a "pull through site" is more like end-to-end sites that are actually side-by-side. They are very hard to negotiate, poorly situated and would be very hard for a Class A with a tow car to use. The drive is gravel, mud and dirt with plenty of soft spots and pot holes. The hook up's are in poor condition and the TV cable is strung out on top of the ground! The management was indifferent, rates were too high and all-in-all it was not much of a park. It's OK for a quick overnight, but not a destination. I would drive on to Limon if I had to do it over again!

Nice park, off the highway and a little less noise than many (most) KOA's. Owners seem nice. They are working on upgrading the park and it's coming along nicely. Not really a "destination", but a good stop over. A little over priced. We came for one night and stayed for three. better than 90% of the KOA's I have stayed at. I would return.

Park shows a lot of hard use. Probably was a great spot at one time in the past. Staff was not helpful, food was poor quality. Sites are not well kept and poorly marked. Buildings look to need upkeep. Sorry experience - expected much more. Too bad.

One of the worst KOA's we have ever stayed at. Bad location, run down park that shows lack of maintenance. Roads in poor shape, sites too small for medium size rigs. Staff unkept and indifferent to customers. STRONGLY encourage you to drive on past this one and stay in Cheyenne, Kimbal, NE or Rawlins, WY - those KOA's are pretty darn nice!

The other reviews pretty much cover it, but, I give it a bit more credit - an "A" for effort! One of the better KOA's. This area of Wyoming is not noted for great RV parks. This KOA is trying very very hard. The place is spotless (my mother would approve), people are super nice, and it's convenient. Yes, there is a lot of road noise and the roads are gravel (about an 8 on a 1-10 scale). It's not a destination, but a very good, clean and safe place for a stop over. I would return.

Stayed at this park a couple of years ago and sorry to say it has gone down hill. Staff was completely indifferent. Park looks as though it has not been kept up in the past couple of years. Water pressure was so low we had to run on the trailer pump. Voltage issues as well. This WAS a super park, off the beaten path and a very nice setting - lots of trees. Sad to see it go down hill. Owners must be "harvesting" from their reputation and the lack of competition in the area. There is a new KOA opening in Dubois and, since we checked it out, I would suggest it as an alternative.

Excellent new park. Super nice owners/managers who are making a big effort to do it right! The park is well kept, with very few if any "seasonal coampers". Close to the highway, but minimal highway noise. New landscaping - give it time. Nice pool and store. All hook-up's are first class. Gravel roads and sites - good shape - still new and will compact better over time. Best choice by far in the Lubbock area - we have tried them all!

Very good location close to town. Park is very dusty and the roads are not that well maintained. The speed bumps don't seem to help a lot. Way too many "work campers" wandering around. The "lawn mower guy" pelted my truck and RV with rocks both times I have stayed here!!! Picnic tables are brick and concrete and can't be moved to a convenient location on your site. They have an anoying habit of putting everyone close together even when they are almost empty. Park is over priced by about $5-6 for what they offer. However - in spite of the foregoing - pretty good park with full hook up, very nice bath and shower as well as laundry (AC in summer). I will stay again (but wrap my truck & RV in blankets to protect it from more stone chips).

Level sites and just off the Interstate. Dusty and well worn park though. Hardly a sign of a tree, but a nice desert view. Sites are quite short for medium to big rigs. No TV (and I mean NO TV). Super nice people, and they have a nice little restaurant with pretty good meals. Gas and diesel fuel is available at a fair price. A good place to stop for the night.

This park is a "Good Sam" park - but I don't support that rating by any means? It is, however, a lovely place, right on the lake with huge shade trees. Roads are in poor shape and have a lot of pot holes full of water and mud. In the winter time when it's too cold for water sports it's a super place to stay! In the summer when water sports are going on it's a nightmare!!!!!! Wild, unsavory folks. I observed theft from an RV and boat - reported it and no one cared! Lots of noise all through the night. Tent camping right next to RV camping. If you enjoy the crowds and loud noise and activity - stay here. If you want a quite get away - stay away in the summer!

Another KOA that has seen it's better days! Pretty much a gravel parking lot with small sites that are too close together. We could literally pass a supper plate out our slide window to the RV next to us! Side-by-side sites. Fortunately the neighbors were of good humor as well! Had to keep the shades down 24x7. Sites are not level, roads fairly well kept. No hint of landscaping. Far enough off the road that the traffic noise isn't that bad, and convenient to shopping. Staff was pretty indifferent and didn't seem intelligent.

This is a great, out of the way park that is right on the bay. It's county operated, and the management does an great job of taking care of business (unlike most government run operations!!!). Quite attractive setting and very convenient to the bay. Good boat launch and fishing. Most sites are large (the back-in's) and well landscaped. Hook up's are good. This park fills up entirely for the winter months with "Winter Texans" so book in advance. Some overflow sites do not have sewer hook up. About 18 miles from Kingsville (shopping), so if you like an out of the way place this is it! The Kings Inn restaurant in the little town is excellent, and has been a dining destination in South Texas for many many years. In the "hay day" of the oil business folks would fly in just for dinner! We really enjoy this park and think you will as well. Have never spoken with anyone there that wasn't happy with the experience.

Older park that could use some more maintenance and upgrading. Nice level grass sites, decent hook up's and roads are fine. Staff seemed OK. Convenient location. Appears to cater to the "Winter Texan" crowd. I could see myself spending the winter at this park (if I didn't already live in Texas). Would stay here again.

Very noisy and hard to get to with ongoing road construction. This may improve by 2007. Cramped park with lots and lots of full timers. The "pull through" sites are very hard to negotiate. Lot of road noise. Sites are too short for any medium or big rig. OK for overnite in a pinch.

Like most KOA's, the railroad and highway are in view and close by. Older park. Good store, nice people. Sites are too small and the park shows years of use. Lot's of full time guests (some not so attractive!). Nice indoor pool, typical KOA cabins and some playground equipment. Fairly easy to get to. It's almost at the bottom of my list of places to stay in Lubbock - just above the WalMart parking lot.

Very nice park with large, level sites. Well kept - always busy in season. Good location, nice people. Can't say enough good about it. No store, and none close so shop before you come! Some of the sites are side-by-side, and I would try hard to avoid them. Otherwise - close to the top of my list of favorite places.

This is a very nice, little park that is off the highway and quite a good place to stay for a few days. Not a lot available in Dubois - I think this is the best. Nice people, and the park shows care and upkeep (although still evolving).

I don't see how anyone could complain about this place ("executive area" or lack of an actual "Lake"???). One of the best parks we have ever stayed in - anywhere - period!!! We live close and camp here a couple of time each summer just for fun, to link up with friends traveling through the area, or to use the pool when it hot (and it's always hot down here). Very well done, no expense spared here. Paved roads, nice sites, 1st class hook up's, nice people, convenient to the highway. I think it's the best stop between San Antonio and El Paso.

Pretty nice park, especially considering the available options in the area. Right on the bay, nice water views. The parks needs some work and maintenance, but it's obvious that work is on going. Nice people, very friendly. A little hard to get to and you have to drive through a marginal area - but once inside the fence it's quite nice. Hook up's good, sites adequate (some small) roads OK (some drainage issues - but it is on the ocean after all). Would return.

Very nice park, just off the highway. Lots of big trees for shade (helps in the summer). Roads are OK - about an 8 on a 1-10 scale. Sites are attractive and well landscaped and maintained (some are a bit hard to negotiate as they have planned them around the trees - which is nice). Close to town and fairly quiet. Nice office and very clean. Watch out for low hanging trees! I highly recommend this little park!
